Great post!

I hope this works out. Figuratively (and sometimes literally too), I'm crossing my fingers so hard on this deal that my hands may resemble claws soon!

Who did what with the beer now?

I wonder if Rob Brown is a worse analogy than Joey Juneau or Craig Janney? Both were wonderbread soft guys who had career (huge!) years early before settling in as soft, second line, guys.

That's what so great about Leaf fans. You have a perfectly reasonable argument coming from a respected guy in mf37 all the way to me, who took about 2 minutes flat to get over/rationalize the loss of 3 draft picks, which previously I was sweating bullets over, to DGB who is much smarter than me alternating between a sobbing foetal position and channeling the potential wild excitement of the successful Kessel run.
All I know is that when I leave my front door, I keep hearing the sound of a huge engine firing up wherever Leaf fans live.

I LOVED the ending. It's kind of the whole point right...?

He's an elite level talent who's put up one great (not good) season on a good (not great) Bruins team. Will it work out? Will Kessel continue to progress as he has so far?

In the words of zombie Clancy : "You gotta take some risks to get a reward, right?"

Great job jr!

@kidk: Before Kanye jumps in and points out today's Down Goes Brown is much better, I'd like to thank mf37 of Bitter Leaf Fan fame for strongly encouraging me to drink all the beer in the fridge; couldn't have done it without you, man.

I'm not sure if this post makes me any more or any less happier about this trade. I thought King Clancy was revered amongst Maple Leafs lore. Turns out his undead state is verbose replete with impressive diction that offers risky wishes. Please, Clancy of Hoofed Victory, let this Kessel trade be a fruitful and bountiful one for the Toronto Maple Leafs for many years to come.

Also, if Kessel tears a rotator cuff again when he waves hello, I'm blaming MF37, too.
