{"id":273,"date":"2008-09-18T09:25:05","date_gmt":"2008-09-18T13:25:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heroesinrehab.ca\/blog\/?p=273"},"modified":"2008-09-18T09:25:05","modified_gmt":"2008-09-18T13:25:05","slug":"too-bad-the-sausages-dont-just-grow-on-trees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/heroesinrehab.ca\/blog\/2008\/09\/18\/too-bad-the-sausages-dont-just-grow-on-trees\/","title":{"rendered":"Too Bad The Sausages Don&#8217;t Just Grow on Trees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not far from the borders of Juniorvania, the little village of St. George will be hosting its &#8220;<a title=\"Apples!  *crunch crunch*  Good!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.stgeorgeapplefest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Apple Fest<\/a>&#8221; this weekend.\u00a0 Locally, everyone is about as amped up about this as country folk get about anything.\u00a0 The enthusiasm is charming, dare I say &#8220;quaint&#8221; (without meaning to be condescending in any way) to these eyes used to city-scale hype about city-type events.<\/p>\n<p>It would seem that not <strong>all<\/strong> of the local zeal, however, produces sound policy-making.\u00a0 There is a certain <a title=\"Mmmmmmmmm meat.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.witteveens.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">purveyor of meats<\/a> not far from here that is advertising (on a sign in front of the store) &#8220;Apple Sausage $1&#8221;.\u00a0 Now I&#8217;m not here to besmirch the good name of sausage generally, and I have nothing in particular against your common apple and it&#8217;s reputed physician-repelling properties (when applied in a quotidian manner);\u00a0 neither can I argue with the price posted, which seems quite reasonable.\u00a0 I have to wonder though, in all good conscience, whether it is appropriate to combine these two special goodnesses in the manner advertised.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Not far from the borders of Juniorvania, the little village of St. George will be hosting its &#8220;Apple Fest&#8221; this weekend.
