I have been working all day on a writing project that is due shortly.\u00a0 The “writing process” (by which I mean “staring at the screen wondering what the hell I’ve gottem myself into”)\u00a0 was going painfully slow a bit earlier,\u00a0 so Spouse convinced me to take a break to go into town.\u00a0 We had dry cleaning to pick up and it just so happens that there’s this little ice cream stand right next door to the shop.<\/p>\n
Admit it: you thought this paragraph was going to be about me getting ice cream all over the dry cleaning, didn’t you?\u00a0 Sorry to disappoint – all clothing has successfully been retrieved from the cleaners and is safely back inside the house with little or no additional patina of melted ice cream.\u00a0 I am an idiot;\u00a0 just not that kind of idiot.<\/p>\n
While we were driving back home, I mentioned that I needed to repair to Mission Control with all due haste, so that I could “art my writicle.”<\/p>\n
