With Glowing Screens, We See Thee Words

Watched the beginning of the Kings/Canucks game from L.A. last night, and Twitter lit up like the goal light behind Jaroslav Halak when the anthem singer trotted out by the Kings apparently needed a little technical assistance in order to make his way through “O Canada.” In a fit of nationalist pique, I was moved to create the Demotivational Poster below:

@anthemguy tweets: "Just trying to remember what comes after `O Canada'"

Man, I would’ve loved to have hacked/rewritten that thing.
    “With glowing farts,
    We see thee lies,
The true north long and flee”.

  • nice poster. he messed up a word as well, saying “from” instead of “in” during the part “True patriot love in all thy son’s command”

  • @Kidk: Get in the Hot Tub Time Machine and make this happen. I’m not asking, I’m telling.

@missy: Yeah, I noticed that too. I guess that’s what you get when you decide to rely on the Online Guitar Archive or songlyrics.com for your anthem singing preparations.

To be honest, jr, every time I hear the American anthem, I transpose 2 lines to “O’er the land of the greed and the home of the slave”. Spent too much time there.
I think the HTTM only works with 4 people, btw. And we’re gonna need Chevy Chase on the job.
